Overview

We are building a team of Mid-Level API Engineers to support a high-profile, strategic initiative within Principal Asset Management. This initiative focuses on modernizing investment systems and transitioning data from existing partners to new platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role with significant visibility and impact across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain internal and external APIs
Build and manage integrations for investment data systems
Extract, transform, and archive legacy data
Modernize data models and ensure scalable architecture
Develop API-based solutions for data ingestion, validation, and consumption
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate system integrations

Required Skills

Strong experience with AWS services, especially Lambda
Proficiency in Python
Hands-on experience building and integrating APIs (internal & external)
