Job Title: Histotechnician

Job Location: Ridgefield, CT

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $42.95hr - $48.95hr

Responsibilities:

Perform routine histology laboratory tasks including tissue processing, embedding, microtome sectioning, slide preparation, and coverslipping in accordance with SOPs.
Develop, optimize, and execute histopathology assays such as H&E staining, special stains, and IHC/ISH assays.
Design, run, and maintain multiplex tissue-based assays (e.g., multiplex IHC/IF), ensuring reproducibility and data quality.
Support daily laboratory operations including sample intake, tracking, reagent preparation, inventory management, and workflow coordination.
Perform quality control (QC) checks on tissue sections, staining, and imaging; document deviations and support process improvements.
Operate and maintain histology instrumentation such as microtomes, automated stainers, and slide scanners.
Coordinate equipment servicing and ensure proper functioning of laboratory instruments.
Maintain accurate documentation, experimental records, and SOPs in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Communicate results effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to troubleshooting and data analysis discussions.

Skills:

Hands-on experience with histology techniques including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
Experience with histopathology assays including IHC and/or ISH; multiplex assay experience preferred.
Strong understanding of quality control, assay reproducibility, and documentation standards.
Ability to support laboratory operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Biology, Histotechnology, Pathology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
