Summary

We are looking for Histotechnician for our client in Ridgefield, CT
Job Title: Histotechnician
Job Location: Ridgefield, CT
Job Type: Contract
Job Overview:
Pay Range: $42.95hr - $48.95hr

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine histology laboratory tasks including tissue processing, embedding, microtome sectioning, slide preparation, and coverslipping in accordance with SOPs.
  • Develop, optimize, and execute histopathology assays such as H&E staining, special stains, and IHC/ISH assays.
  • Design, run, and maintain multiplex tissue-based assays (e.g., multiplex IHC/IF), ensuring reproducibility and data quality.
  • Support daily laboratory operations including sample intake, tracking, reagent preparation, inventory management, and workflow coordination.
  • Perform quality control (QC) checks on tissue sections, staining, and imaging; document deviations and support process improvements.
  • Operate and maintain histology instrumentation such as microtomes, automated stainers, and slide scanners.
  • Coordinate equipment servicing and ensure proper functioning of laboratory instruments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, experimental records, and SOPs in compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Communicate results effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to troubleshooting and data analysis discussions.

Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with histology techniques including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
  • Experience with histopathology assays including IHC and/or ISH; multiplex assay experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of quality control, assay reproducibility, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to support laboratory operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Biology, Histotechnology, Pathology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
