Database Administrator

Our organization is in search of a driven, career-focused Database Administrator to become a part of our team in Key West, FL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in the design, implementation, and upkeep of intricate database systems, ensuring they are highly available, scalable, and secure.
• Offer mentorship and support to Junior and Mid-Level Administrators regarding advanced database technologies, architectural frameworks, and design principles.
• Oversee complex performance tuning projects, enhance database configurations for optimal performance, and establish comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans to maintain business continuity and data integrity.
• Work alongside Application Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to create and implement effective data models, sophisticated database solutions, and data migration strategies.
• Assist in the formulation and enforcement of rigorous database security policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  

Essential Qualifications:

• A Bachelor s degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • A Bachelor s degree may be replaced by a High School Diploma along with four (4) years of additional relevant experience, or an Associate s Degree with two (2) years of further relevant experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration, demonstrating a successful history of managing and maintaining database systems.
• Possession of DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification.
• Significant experience with Linux and/or RedHat operating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture, including technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Desirable Qualifications:

• A Master s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related area.
• Experience with Geospatial Data (e.g., PostGIS, etc.).
• Experience utilizing automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Satellite, etc.).
• Understanding of NoSQL databases and their applications, along with experience in database automation, scripting, data integration, and ETL processes.
• Experience within a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a related component is preferred.
  

Clearance Requirements:

• An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Physical Requirements:

• The individual in this role must be capable of remaining stationary for 50% of the time. Occasional movement within the office is necessary to access file cabinets, office equipment, or to interact with colleagues, management, and clients through email, phone, or virtual communication, which may include delivering presentations.
