Job Title: Python Developer – MongoDB (L3 Support Engineer)

Location: Dallas, TX / New York City, NY / New Jersey (Onsite)

Role Summary

Value Technology is looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong expertise in MongoDB and L3 production support. This role involves handling complex production issues, performing deep root cause analysis, and ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of Python-based applications and database systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with development, DevOps, and business teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the L3 escalation point for complex production issues involving Python applications and MongoDB.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and performance-related incidents.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts, monitoring tools, and utilities using Python.
• Monitor system health, logs, and alerts to proactively identify potential issues.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity of applications and databases.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance application stability and scalability.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and respond to critical incidents.
• Maintain documentation for troubleshooting, solutions, and best practices.
• Follow SDLC processes for code fixes, testing, and production deployments.

Required Technical Skills

Programming & Frameworks

• Strong proficiency in Python (application development & scripting)
• Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI (preferred)
• Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code

Database

• Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB
• Knowledge of:

• Query optimization
• Indexing strategies
• Data modeling
• Performance tuning

Production Support

• Proven experience in L3 support / advanced production support
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and log analysis skills
• Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes

Monitoring & Tools

• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, or similar)
• Familiarity with ticketing tools like Jira, ServiceNow

Data & Integration

• Understanding of ETL processes and data streaming concepts
• Experience working with APIs and distributed systems

Additional Technical Skills

• Scripting and automation for operational efficiency
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Understanding of system performance tuning and optimization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of security best practices, encryption, and key management
• Exposure to microservices architecture
