Thermo King is transforming our engineering verification and validation processes, and we want you to be a part of this journey. We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dynamic Verification and Validation (V&V) Senior Engineer who is ready to drive meaningful change and grow their own capabilities in the innovative environment here at Thermo King. In this position, you will be an integral part of multiple product development teams, playing a key role in our strategic mission to enhance our V&V capabilities. Your contributions will directly impact the exceptional quality we deliver to our customers.
What you will do:- Product Development: Embed within multiple product development programs of diverse sizes and complexity, ensuring the Design Verification Plan fully covers the system requirements and proactively filling gaps in the process
- Sustaining Projects: Work with multiple sustaining engineering projects, applying V&V methods with a continuous improvement mindset to drive increased quality
- Capability Growth: Enhance existing and develop new V&V processes, including tests, analyses, inspections, and demonstrations.
- Test Data: Collect, analyze, and report V&V test data, providing critical insights and recommendations to the entire product team
- Data Analytics: Leverage all data sources (test, analysis, warranty, quality, and telematics) to evaluate the robustness of existing V&V methods, driving improvement and capability growth
- Get Hands-On: Design, develop, and execute testing protocols for innovative transport refrigeration systems and components
- Stay Ahead: Lead portions of engineering digital thread initiatives as requested, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Management, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Simulation Process and Data Management (SPDM). Support the integration of these tools with the V&V strategy.
- Team Up: Work closely with cross-functional teams within engineering, including test laboratories and analysis, product development, and program management
- Reporting and Documentation: Lead the documentation of assigned V&V processes, ensuring they are comprehensive, consistent, and accurate
- Career Development: Utilize the breadth of the Thermo King team to make connections, grow your skillsets, and gain a broad perspective of the business, from concept development to sustaining engineering.
What you will bring:- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a product development role. Experience with product development processes and tools a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles
- Project Management: Demonstrated history leading and completing projects on time and meeting critical deliverables. Experience with assessing risk and executing test plans.
- Focused Mindset: Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects with limited supervision
- Problem Solver: Excellent problem-solving abilities and an initiative-taking approach
- Hands-on: Experience working in a test laboratory environment, including high proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools preferred
- Curiosity: Demonstrated agility in a changing environment-a willingness to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and methodologies
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure: - Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate for a laboratory environment, including, but not limited to safety glasses and safety toe shoes
- This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment, and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
