Lead Solution Architect

This is not a traditional architecture-only role. The candidate must be capable of designing solutions, guiding developers, building prototypes, reviewing code, and troubleshooting complex production issues.

Lead solution architecture for assigned applications and cross-application initiatives, aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards. Translate business needs into secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-conscious designs. Remain hands-on through prototypes, critical components, design reviews, and complex issue resolution.

Technical Leadership and Solution Design

1. Provide technical leadership and play a key role in the delivery of secure, optimized, high-quality, and well-integrated solutions.
2. Own end-to-end solution design for assigned applications, including component boundaries, interfaces, data flows, dependencies, and integration patterns. Include client messaging and alerts responsibilities only where relevant to the application.
3. Partner with product management, engineering, Enterprise Architecture, cybersecurity, platform, and operations teams to align solution designs and integration approaches with enterprise standards.
4. Collaborate with business and technical teams to define design requirements, and prepare detailed technical specifications from which solutions and integrations will be developed.
5. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provide technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.
6. Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices.
7. Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. Brainstorm new features and improvements.
8. Document architecture decisions and tradeoffs across performance, capacity, availability, recoverability, security, data protection, operability, and cost; define measurable non-functional requirements and validate them with engineering and operations teams.

Development and Support

1. Design, develop, test, debug, and document components in on-premise, hybrid cloud, and/or public cloud environments. Development includes, but is not limited to, customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or using tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.
2. Build prototypes and critical components as needed; validate architecture through automated testing, performance testing, and recovery scenarios with the delivery teams.
3. Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions. Provide application support, including complex problem research, analysis, resolution, and on-call support.
4. Guide architecture across assigned initiatives, sequence dependencies, and communicate technical risks and decisions to stakeholders.

Technology

• Architecture and design experience with: software design fundamentals, source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, secure coding, debugging, and technical documentation. Evaluate tradeoffs and guide implementation across assigned applications, aligned with enterprise standards.

• Provide technical leadership and play a key role in the delivery of secure, optimized, high-quality, and well-integrated APIs. Java and Springbok. REST/JSON contracts, authentication and authorization, error handling, and API testing; Evaluate tradeoffs and guide implementation across assigned applications, aligned with enterprise standards.

• AWS - Amazon Aurora MySQL, Glue, Node.js on AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and/or Amazon SQS; asynchronous processing, retries, and failure handling as applicable.
