Equipment Innovation Manager

job summary:

As the Equipment Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of equipment and smallwares development, including sourcing, testing and implementation at scale ensuring enhancements of food quality, unlocking menu innovation and enabling new restaurant openings.

responsibilities:

Oversee and refine robust equipment testing protocols, be the main liaison to the entire equipment team, responsible for the hand off of thoroughly tested concepts for the equipment team to roll out to the system.

Own holistic back of house equipment innovation strategy. Oversee design, source, develop, validate and implement new innovative equipment platforms transforming restaurant operations.

Lead collaboration efforts with equipment manufacturers to proactively seek out innovative solutions streamlining and optimizing back of house processes. Presents those solutions to appropriate cross-functional teams and leadership.

Partner with restaurant development teams to dual source and evaluate all equipment where necessary enabling new restaurant openings.

Ensure sound equipment and service practices are applied to all processes associated with the equipment, design direction and facility layouts; and that all equipment conforms to industry proven quality and food safety standards.

May perform other duties as assigned

qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university required; Mechanical Engineer or related field preferred.

- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Restaurant Operations and Equipment Development

- Experience managing vendor relationships within the restaurant or food service industry required

- Experience in project management preferred
