Institutional knowledge-heavy role, not green-field build.
Sourcing focus for this round: C#/.NET only (full JD also lists Python, MongoDB, and React, but those are out of scope for this pass).
Must-haves:
- Strong C# — scalable, high-performance backend services.
- Deep SQL — designing/optimizing large, complex relational databases.
- Microservices architecture, API design, distributed systems.
- Building/maintaining high-throughput enterprise-grade platforms.
- Resilient system design (error handling, observability, fault tolerance);
- Experience setting engineering standards and driving technical roadmaps — senior-level, not entry/mid.
This role provides deep technical oversight across payment flows, systems integration, and platform dependencies, ensuring resilient architecture and reliable delivery of a critical enterprise capability. It maintains institutional knowledge of complex systems, leads to engineering standards, and drives the technical roadmap that supports operational transparency, client experience, and risk reduction. The position is essential to safeguarding continuity, platform stability, and long-term strategic evolution of payment observability - in addition to helping define and expand SRE across the org.
- Strong proficiency in C# with experience building scalable, high-performance backend services.
- Hands on experience with Python for data processing, automation, and integration of scripting.
- Deep understanding of SQL with the ability to design, optimize, and query large, complex relational databases.
- Experience working with MongoDB including schema design, performance tuning, and document-oriented data modelling.
- Strong capability in modern frontend development using React, including reusable component design and API integration.
- Solid understanding of microservices architectures, API design, and distributed systems patterns.
- Experience building and maintaining enterprise grade platforms with high throughput and reliability requirements.
- Ability to design resilient systems with appropriate error handling, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex integrated systems.
- Experience delivering technical roadmaps, setting engineering standards, and guiding development best practices.
