About the Role
We are seeking a senior-level Terraform Engineer to architect, lead, and deliver scalable, secure Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) platforms across multi-cloud environments. This role focuses on Terraform-based cloud provisioning, reusable infrastructure modules, policy-driven automation, and platform reliability across Azure and AWS.
The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on Terraform expertise with platform architecture leadership, ensuring infrastructure is secure, compliant, observable, and cost-efficient. This role also includes mentoring engineers and elevating overall DevOps and platform engineering capability.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture & IaC Delivery
- Architect and deliver enterprise Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform across cloud platforms.
- Design reusable Terraform modules and composable infrastructure patterns.
- Align infrastructure design with security, compliance, scalability, and cost objectives.
Cloud Provisioning & Platform Automation
- Automate provisioning of compute, network, storage, identity, and platform services across Azure and AWS.
- Implement environment provisioning frameworks for dev, test, staging, and production.
- Integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure deployment.
Terraform Module Engineering & Governance
- Build, version, and maintain reusable Terraform module libraries.
- Enforce module standards, naming conventions, tagging, and policy controls.
- Implement policy-as-code and guardrails using Sentinel, OPA, or equivalent tooling.
Infrastructure Operations, Security & Reliability
- Implement secure-by-design infrastructure patterns including RBAC, secrets, and network controls.
- Enable infrastructure observability, drift detection, and state management best practices.
- Apply compliance, auditability, and change control across IaC workflows.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead infrastructure engineering execution and cross-team platform collaboration.
- Mentor engineers on Terraform best practices, code quality, and IaC design patterns.
- Build reusable standards, reference architectures, and platform engineering playbooks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master's preferred.
- 8+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or DevOps engineering experience.
- 4+ years hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code at enterprise scale.
- Proven experience delivering production cloud platforms in regulated or enterprise environments with the following technology stack:
- Terraform & IaC: Terraform, Terraform Cloud/Enterprise, Terraform modules, remote state backends, workspace strategy
- Azure: Azure Resource Manager, Azure Landing Zones, VNet, AKS, Storage, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor
- AWS: VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, Control Tower, Organizations
- CI/CD & Automation: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, pipeline automation for IaC
- Languages & Scripting: HCL, Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- Policy & Security: Sentinel, Open Policy Agent (OPA), policy-as-code, secrets management
- State & Governance: Remote state, drift detection, environment promotion workflows
- Platforms & Orchestration: Kubernetes platforms, multi-account / multi-subscription cloud environments, hybrid/multi-cloud deployments
Certifications
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Kubernetes CKA or CKAD
- DevOps or Cloud Security certification
