Role: SAP MM Consultant
1. Strong, Hands‑On SAP MM Experience (Top Priority)
Absolute must-have.
The manager needs 5–7 years of hands‑on SAP MM configuration experience.
This means someone who:
Works in the MM system daily, not just high‑level or oversight roles.
Can troubleshoot production issues quickly.
Knows the MM module end-to-end, not just integration touchpoints.
Candidates with only 1–3 years of MM experience will not be considered.
2. Data Extraction & Cleansing Experience
Considered very important.
Ranking priority: just below MM experience.
Candidates should have real experience with:
Data extraction
Data cleansing
Data migration
3. SAP MDG Experience
Helpful but not mandatory.
If a candidate is very strong in MM + data skills, the manager is fine with lighter MDG experience.
MDG can be picked up if the MM foundation is strong.
4. Additional Qualities & Deal Breakers
The manager emphasized that they evaluate more than the resume:
Must-Have Soft/Functional Skills
Strong analytical ability
Ability to dig into issues independently
Strong attitude to learn and problem‑solve
Ability to work directly with business users
Red Flags / Will Not Work
Candidates who:
Worked mostly as project managers, scrum masters, or overseers
Only supported SAP SD/OTC or PM with minimal MM
Have resumes that don’t match real experience when probed
5. What an Ideal Resume Would Look Like
5–7 years directly in MM, not SD, PM, or "integration only"
Daily, hands-on configuration work
Experience supporting production issues, not only implementation projects
Data extraction & cleansing background
Bonus: MDG experience
Priority Ranking (from manager’s perspective)
Strong, hands-on MM experience (5–7 years)
Data extraction + cleansing experience
MDG experience (nice to have, not required)
