The business and senior leadership have put a huge emphasis on technology initiatives and are looking for passionate team members to contribute to the growth and development of the technical environment.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to lead multiple Agile teams supporting Workday Finance and HR initiatives. This role will be instrumental in driving Agile maturity, optimizing delivery, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In this role you will partner closely with Product and Technology leadership as part of a leadership triad, ensuring alignment between business objectives and execution while delivering measurable value.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor multiple Scrum teams (2 teams, ~8 members each)
- Coach teams and Product Owners on Agile best practices and maturity
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including program-level events
- Drive consistency in tools, processes, and delivery standards
- Guide backlog refinement, estimation (story points, t-shirt sizing), and sprint planning
- Support roadmap development and work decomposition for delivery
- Ensure alignment across cross-functional teams
- Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and leadership
- Communicate status, risks, and mitigation strategies effectively
- Align delivery priorities with organizational objectives
- Define and track KPIs to measure Agile effectiveness
- Provide reporting and insights to leadership
- Establish baseline cost and schedule metrics from backlog data
- Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Support enterprise Agile transformation initiatives
- Lead training sessions and workshops Promote innovation through new Agile/Lean practices
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term Agile strategy
- Contribute to product roadmap planning and execution
Skills Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 5+ years of Scrum Master experience leading multiple teams
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
- Strong expertise in Agile frameworks and Scrum practices
- Experience with Agile scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, etc.)
- Experience supporting Workday Finance and/or HR implementations (preferred)
- Exposure to hybrid Scrum/Kanban environments (preferred)
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and collaboration tools (Miro, Mural, Lucid)
- Ability to drive enterprise Agile transformation efforts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
