Duration: Long Term Contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Airbag Design Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of airbag restraint systems for production vehicles. This role plays a critical part in ensuring occupant safety by supporting airbag system maturation through design, engineering, and testing in collaboration with OEM and Tier 1 suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and maturation of airbag systems, including frontal and curtain airbags, for production vehicles.
• Collaborate closely with OEM and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure design intent, quality, and manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and change management activities.
• Coordinate and support airbag testing and validation, including system integration testing and performance evaluations.
• Analyze test data, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure airbag systems meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and design records.
• Support cross-functional teams including vehicle safety, manufacturing, quality, and program management throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required).
• 7+ years of experience in automotive restraints or airbag engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in airbag design.
• 1+ year of experience specifically in curtain airbag design.
• 3 5 years of experience working with OEMs and/or Tier 1 suppliers.
• Strong understanding of airbag systems, components, and deployment performance.
• Experience supporting testing, validation, and issue resolution.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and supplier-facing environments.
