Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? Lincoln Electric - Harris Products Group is seeking a hands-on Process Engineering Technician / Operations Launch Specialist to help establish and grow the U.S. operations of Alloy Steel International (ASI), a leading Australian manufacturer recently acquired by Lincoln Electric.

This is a unique opportunity to join a startup-style business backed by the resources and stability of a global manufacturing leader. The successful candidate will play a key role in getting the operation off the ground, supporting equipment setup, production readiness, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.

Welding and metal fabrication experience are highly desirable. This role requires a hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces continuous improvement, and maintains an unwavering commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the startup and growth of ASI's U.S. manufacturing operation.
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changeovers, and preventative maintenance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot CNC Plasma Tables and Rolling Tables.
  • Lead equipment runoffs, repairs, and process improvements.
  • Support production teams in resolving machine and tooling issues.
  • Maintain tooling and spare parts inventory.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Train and support operators on equipment and maintenance best practices.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical, or fabrication experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment and roller table.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to perform calculations involving measurements, fractions, decimals, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and other production-related metrics.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
