What you'll do...

We're growing our technology team and are in search of a Senior Software Engineers to help build our new native mobile experience. When you join us, you'll use your technical expertise to help design, develop, and maintain software components that support H&R Block business applications and help transform the way our clients interact with us. You'll participate in day-to-day functional tasks on the team, provide developer support, and maintain various development environments. Day to day, you'll...

  • Coordinate with product, design, and IT partners to deliver customer centric mobile experiences
  • Help form strong coding foundations for both IOS and Android platforms
  • Use tools, languages, coding standards, and best practices to develop new product features and maintain year over year product functionality and enhancements
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, User Experience, and other related teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements and approach
  • Assist in planning and implementing a strategic direction for the product
  • Identify product design features to support scalability, usability, and better performance
  • Assist and drive technical design and code reviews for all new enhancements and maintenance work delivered by the development team
  • Understand complex business and functional requirements. Produce technical specifications to support product requirements
  • Mentor and coach other team members on the latest technological advances and establish consistent best practice

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
  • 5 years minimum related work experience
  • Strong understanding of IOS and Android native languages such as Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, and Jetpack Compose
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Fastlane, Bitrise, Gihub Actions) and automated testing frameworks (Junit, Espresso, XCTest)
  • Experience with implementing shared SDKs and understanding of App Store/Play Store compliance, enterprise deployment and mobile security frameworks
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of different mobile architecture and implementations

It would be even better if you also had...

  • Familiarity with PING, Ionic, Data Dog, Azure Dev Ops, C#, .NET, or Angular

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
