Our client, a mutual benefit corporation and health plan provider, seeks an accomplished Salesforce Data Cloud Segmentation Analyst.

- Largely remote role. Occasional travel (approximately 2–3 times per year) may be needed as business needs require.
- Work hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Pacific Time.
Description:
- Design, build, and manage audience segments in Salesforce Data Cloud for members, brokers, employers, prospects, and other target personas.
- Create identity-resolved audiences, computed traits, calculated insights, and predictive score-based segments.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and reusable segment definitions aligned with the unified data model and compliance requirements.
- Develop complex segmentation logic using multi-rule, cross-object criteria including eligibility, line of business, care program enrollment, engagement activity, care gaps, pharmacy claims, and other member attributes.
- Activate audience segments across Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement (email, SMS, push) and Marketing Cloud Personalization (web and mobile experiences).
- Create and maintain reusable common audience segments to support rapid campaign execution and reduce build timelines.
- Build campaign-specific segments supporting care management, complex care, Medi-Cal redetermination, diabetes management, member onboarding, and other business initiatives.
- Establish and enforce segmentation governance standards, naming conventions, audience taxonomy, and lifecycle management processes.
- Manage segment development, review, QA, deployment, and production promotion through established change management processes.
- Monitor and optimize Salesforce Data Cloud credit consumption by reviewing segment complexity and eliminating duplicate or redundant audiences.
- Govern production access and ensure adherence to segmentation controls and audit requirements.
- Manage the end-to-end segmentation intake process including prioritization, development, testing, and activation.
- Partner with campaign operations, business systems analysts, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality audiences on schedule.
- Participate in JIRA-based intake, backlog management, sprint planning, and weekly project reviews.
- Analyze data availability within Salesforce Data Cloud and collaborate with data engineering teams to address data gaps and onboard new data sources.
- Perform data analysis and validate segmentation logic against complex unified data models and multiple source systems.
- Develop and maintain calculated insights, derived attributes, propensity models, and predictive metrics used for audience targeting.
- Write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries and segmentation logic to ensure audience accuracy and performance.
- Document audience definitions, business rules, eligibility criteria, data mappings, and segmentation requirements using JIRA and Confluence.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing Operations, Digital teams, Clinical teams, and CRM stakeholders to support campaign objectives and activation strategies.
- Coordinate with platform administrators, developers, architects, and data engineers on environment management, deployments, permissions, and data integration requirements.
- Support analytics, campaign attribution, reporting, and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, reusable segmentation frameworks, and best-practice playbooks.
- Educate business stakeholders on Salesforce Data Cloud capabilities, audience creation processes, and self-service reporting access.
- Serve as the Salesforce Data Cloud Segmentation Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance on audience design, feasibility, complexity, and implementation effort.
- Perform audience QA and validation, including count verification, logic testing, data freshness checks, and downstream activation validation.
- Monitor segment performance, refresh schedules, and audience delivery across activation channels.
- Support SDLC processes and environment promotion through Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to audience complexity, data quality, duplicate segments, platform performance, and credit utilization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Equivalent professional experience (4+ years) in Salesforce Data Cloud (CDP) and/or enterprise data platform segmentation may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Salesforce Data Cloud Accredited Professional certification required, or certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (CDP) or a comparable enterprise Customer Data Platform (CDP) is required.
- Strong experience in data modeling, audience segmentation, and customer data platforms; candidates with solely Marketing Operations or campaign execution backgrounds without segmentation expertise will not be considered.
- Must possess strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, read, debug, and troubleshoot queries; candidates limited to drag-and-drop or GUI-based tools without query-level data analysis experience will not be considered.
- 3–5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Strategy, Data Segmentation, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and validate audience segments based on complex business requirements and data models.
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar technologies.
Preferred Skills (Nice to haves but not mandatory requirements):
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Administrator certification (preferred, not hard requirement if strong CDP experience exists).
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Snowflake.
Assessment Requirements:
- Successfully complete a scenario-based audience segmentation exercise, demonstrating the ability to design, build, and validate an audience segment using a business use case and sample data model.
- Successfully complete a SQL proficiency assessment demonstrating the ability to read, write, troubleshoot, and optimize queries against a multi-object relational data model.
