Description: Job Title: Sys Integratn/test Eng (LabView & TestStand) Location: Chelmsford, MA Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Possible Extension) ***This is a Third/Weekend Shift role, Selected candidates will be required to start and train on first shift before moving to third shift.***
**First Shift Training Hours: Day shift, Full-Time (M-TH) 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday.
**Third Shift Hours: Day shift, Full-Time (TH-Sunday) 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Thursday through Sunday.
About the Role This role focuses on integrating, testing, validating, and maintaining complex systems composed of in-house and COTS/GOTS components. The position requires translating customer requirements into test solutions, executing system-level testing, resolving technical issues across hardware and software, and preparing comprehensive evaluation reports. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system performance and milestone completion.
Key Responsibilities - Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain integration and test solutions for systems and subsystems.
- Translate customer requirements into system test strategies considering technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
- Establish functional and technical specifications, interface definitions, and input/output parameters.
- Develop and execute complete test plans, procedures, and test schedules for systems or subsystems.
- Coordinate testing activities with internal teams and program groups.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve system or software issues.
- Perform analysis of test results and prepare detailed system evaluation reports.
- Write discrepancy reports and conduct regression testing to validate fixes.
- Evaluate testability requirements and ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Support the development and maintenance of software code in LabVIEW and TestStand environments.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years using Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
- 5+ years experience writing and maintaining LabVIEW code.
- 3+ years experience with TestStand software development.
- 3+ years experience in problem analysis and resolution.
- Proven experience managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working effectively within teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Experience leading teams or guiding them toward milestone completion.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications - 9+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Experience measuring electrical parameters for components and subassemblies.
- 5+ years expertise in RF or Microwave systems/subsystems.
- 3+ years developing complex TestStand programs.
- Experience researching and selecting components for test equipment design.
- Solid capability in troubleshooting issues at instrumentation, fixture, software, or unit-under-test levels.
- Ability to generate engineering documentation such as sketches, block diagrams, and parts lists.
- Familiarity with corrective/preventative action workflows.
- Strong understanding of deriving test requirements from system design requirements.
- Ability to identify and document discrepancies between drawings and actual hardware.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience preparing technical presentations and trade studies.
