Skills
- Knowledge Management
- Change Management
- Content Life Cycle Management
- Knowledge Management Governance
Summary
- Lead enterprise adoption of a knowledge-management platform, including rollout planning, stakeholder alignment, and adoption tracking.
- Design and operate content governance and lifecycle processes: taxonomy, metadata standards, ownership models, review cadence, and retirement/archival policy.
- Establish and run a KM Champions network - a distributed model of business-unit knowledge owners - to drive sustained adoption and local accountability.
- Lead critical-knowledge capture initiatives: identifying at-risk subject-matter expertise, structuring capture interviews, and converting tacit knowledge into governed, reusable content.
- Design and execute formal change enablement plans (communications, training, adoption metrics) to support each phase of the KM program.
- Define content-quality gates that content must pass before entering an AI-searchable index, and establish a source-authority hierarchy so conflicting content has a clear, governed answer for which source wins.
- Partner with data/AI teams on how content and metadata are structured for retrieval accuracy, and ensure permissions are mapped so AI search never surfaces content beyond a user's existing access rights.
- Define citation and source-attribution standards so AI-surfaced answers can be traced back to a governed, authoritative source.
- Report program status, adoption metrics, and risk to client sponsors and internal stakeholders.
- 10+ years in knowledge management, information governance, or enterprise content strategy, with demonstrated program leadership (not execution-only) experience.
- Proven experience leading enterprise KM platform adoption at scale (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, OpenText, or comparable enterprise content/knowledge platforms).
- Hands-on experience building and operating content governance frameworks: taxonomy design, metadata standards, and content lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated success building and sustaining a distributed champions or knowledge-owner network within a large, matrixed organization.
- Experience designing and running critical/tacit-knowledge capture programs, ideally in an environment with significant workforce transition or attrition risk.
- Formal change management experience (Prosci/ADKAR or equivalent methodology) with a track record of measurable adoption outcomes.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
- Prior experience in a large, complex, matrixed enterprise; energy, industrial, or similarly regulated-sector experience strongly preferred.
- Valuable
- Familiarity with enterprise AI search / retrieval-augmented tools and how content structure affects answer quality.
- Understanding of source authority, citation, and permissions models as applied to AI-surfaced content.
- Experience partnering with data governance or AI teams on content-quality controls feeding AI systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise data/content platforms such as Snowflake, Collibra, Microsoft Purview, or Databricks (contextual awareness, not hands-on engineering).
