We are seeking a Senior .NET Developer with strong hands-on experience building distributed, event-driven microservices using C#, .NET 6+, Apache Kafka, Temporal, and Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing resilient backend services for high-volume environments and solving complex distributed-systems challenges involving workflow orchestration, message ordering, fault tolerance, retries, idempotency, and eventual consistency.

Experience in ecommerce, retail, order management, inventory, fulfillment, or omnichannel platforms is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C#, .NET 6+, and ASP.NET Core.

• Build event-driven microservices using Apache Kafka.

• Develop Kafka producers and consumers and work with topics, partitions, schemas, consumer groups, scaling, and failure-handling patterns.

• Design and implement long-running business workflows using Temporal or comparable workflow orchestration platforms.

• Build and operate cloud-native microservices on Microsoft Azure.

• Work with AKS/Kubernetes, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, and API Management.

• Implement durable workflows with appropriate retry, compensation, and failure-recovery strategies.

• Apply distributed-systems patterns including idempotency, eventual consistency, retries/backoff, event sourcing, and the outbox pattern.

• Develop clean, maintainable, well-tested production code.

• Participate in architecture and design reviews and contribute to technical decisions.

• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across distributed services.

• Develop automated unit, integration, and contract tests.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Work closely with Product Owners, architects, QA, and engineering teams.

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers.

• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/LLM capabilities, where applicable.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.

• Strong hands-on C# / .NET development.

• Strong ASP.NET Core experience.

• Experience with .NET 6+.

• Production experience with Apache Kafka.

• Experience with Kafka producers, consumers, partitioning, schemas, consumer groups, and failure handling.

• Hands-on experience with Temporal preferred.

• Experience with Camunda, AWS Step Functions, or Cadence may be considered as comparable workflow-orchestration experience.

• Strong Microsoft Azure experience.

• Experience with AKS / Kubernetes.

• Experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, and Event Hubs.

• Strong microservices development experience.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems.

• Experience with:

  • Idempotency

  • Eventual consistency

  • Retries / backoff

  • Event sourcing

  • Outbox pattern

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Redis.

• Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.

• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or other infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Strong automated testing experience.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Candidates whose experience is primarily traditional .NET web development without strong Kafka, Azure microservices, and distributed-systems experience may not be a fit.
