Job Description:
Position Summary.
We are Ads organization at Best Buy, where we build and manage the MyAds platform used by sellers and internal teams to create, manage, and monitor advertising campaigns across Best Buy s digital ecosystem.
Our department focuses on retail media and advertising technology, including Sponsored Products and onsite display advertising. We own systems that support campaign management, bidding, reporting, spend tracking, billing integrations, and seller-facing user experiences.
Project Description:
The project includes:
- building and enhancing seller-facing campaign management workflows,
- integrating with external advertising platforms such as Criteo and ad-serving systems,
- implementing reporting, spend tracking, and billing event pipelines,
- improving campaign synchronization and product eligibility systems,
- and modernizing frontend and backend architecture for scalability and maintainability.
What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?
Experience
- 5 8 years of backend development experience
- Strong Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot/WebFlux expertise
- Experience with microservices and REST API development
- Strong understanding of Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and async processing
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL/MySQL performance optimization skills
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native applications
- Production support, monitoring, and observability experience
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently own features/services end-to-end
- Good cross-team communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with scalable and high-throughput systems
- Bonus: AdTech, BigQuery/Google Cloud Platform, reactive programming, AI-assisted development tools experience
