Job DescriptionSenior .NET Application Developer - Part-Time
Remote | Part-Time | Approximately 20 Hours/Week Senior-Level Development Without the Full-Time Commitment
We are seeking an experienced
Senior .NET Application Developer for a fully remote, part-time opportunity supporting and enhancing business-critical web applications within a Microsoft technology environment.
This role is ideal for a seasoned, hands-on developer who can contribute approximately
20 hours per week and quickly become productive across
C#, .NET, Blazor, JavaScript, SQL Server, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
Technical ability is only part of the equation. We're looking for someone confident and collaborative who can bring new ideas to the table, respectfully challenge established approaches when appropriate, and build a productive working relationship with an experienced senior developer.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, enhance, and support web applications using C#, .NET, Blazor, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL Server.
- Build and maintain application functionality within Microsoft Azure.
- Develop clean, maintainable C# code using Visual Studio and established object-oriented development practices.
- Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and integration decisions.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, tables, indexes, and views.
- Write automated tests and validate application changes before release.
- Manage source code, pull requests, branching, builds, and deployments through Git and Azure DevOps.
- Troubleshoot application, database, integration, and deployment issues.
- Collaborate with an experienced senior developer to evaluate technical approaches and improve existing solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and recommend improvements to coding standards, maintainability, and development practices.
- Work independently while communicating technical recommendations, risks, and trade-offs clearly.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience within the Microsoft technology stack.
- Strong hands-on development experience with C# and .NET.
- Experience developing modern web applications using Blazor and JavaScript.
- Strong SQL Server and T-SQL development skills.
- Hands-on experience developing or supporting applications in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Visual Studio.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience with automated testing, debugging, and production troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software development best practices.
- Ability to work independently and be productive within a part-time schedule.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to discuss, defend, and respectfully challenge technical decisions.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively alongside experienced developers with established systems and development practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC or legacy .NET Framework applications.
- Experience modernizing or enhancing established applications rather than exclusively building greenfield solutions.
- Knowledge of Azure identity, RBAC, Key Vault, or related cloud security capabilities.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, or application integration patterns.
- Experience mentoring developers or serving as a senior technical resource.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This role offers an uncommon combination of
senior-level technical work, approximately 20 hours per week, and fully remote flexibility. You'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningful code, influence technical decisions, and help evolve established applications without the commitment of a traditional full-time position.
