Job Description:
We are a DevOps Product Team responsible for both maintaining a live product and delivering new project work. Our team supports incoming projects that require authentication services by building new functionality to meet their needs. We ensure the live product remains highly available and secure while also driving new feature development. In practice, we operate as two teams in one: a Core Scrum Team that shares the same Azure DevOps backlog and sprint cadence, and a subset focused on product support. The product support group prioritizes live production needs first, using any remaining capacity for project work, while additional team members focus exclusively on new project delivery. Currently, we have Azure resources, including a web app and a function app, but we're in the process of transitioning this functionality to our SaaS platform. At present, our live environment is a hybrid of Azure and SaaS products, and by the end of the year, we expect to be fully operating within the SaaS solution. We continue to use Application Insights within our Azure landing zone, and it's likely we'll need to build one new API in Azure to support this transition. Moving forward, most of our authentication capabilities will be managed through the SaaS vendor, though some Azure components will remain part of the overall architecture. For internal users, we leverage Entra ID, while external customers authenticate through Ping.
Role: The Systems Engineer joining our team will serve as the primary owner for all responsibilities within the Systems Engineering domain. This includes managing project pipelines, certificate management, Application Insights (login and monitoring), and performance oversight. This individual will be expected to proactively identify required tasks, assess priorities, and recommend the order in which they should be addressed. They will also play a key role in translating high-level objectives into detailed technical work, supporting me in defining and organizing the work breakdown, leveraging their deep technical understanding of what needs to be done.
