Role Overview
The D365 SCM Functional Consultant / Architect will lead the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (SCM) across 8 countries: US, UK, Netherlands, India, Singapore, China, Japan, and Australia.
This role will design and deliver a global SCM template, ensuring standardized processes across procurement, inventory, warehousing, and production, while accommodating country-specific operational, regulatory, and logistics requirements.
The consultant will act as a functional leader and trusted advisor to Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance executives, driving operational efficiency, scalability, and integration with global finance processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global SCM Architecture & Template Design
- Define and implement a global SCM template for:
- Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse, Production, Planning, Quality
- Standardize:
- Item master structure, warehouse templates, procurement policies
- Inventory valuation and costing alignment with Finance
- Establish global process frameworks for reuse across all countries
2. Multi-Country Implementation Leadership (8 Countries)
- Lead rollout across:
- US, UK, Netherlands, India, Singapore, China, Japan, Australia
- Drive a template-based rollout approach:
- Global core design with controlled local variations
- Manage:
- Multi-warehouse, multi-site, multi-legal entity environments
- Ensure scalability for:
- Manufacturing, distribution, and retail operating models
3. Localization & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure SCM processes comply with regional operational requirements:
- US / UK / NL / Australia advanced warehouse ops, logistics compliance
- India / Singapore GST-linked procurement, compliance workflows
- China regulatory constraints, local integrations, distribution controls
- Japan local inventory practices, quality and traceability standards
- Align SCM flows with:
- Local tax and financial posting requirements
- Balance:
- Global standardization vs. local execution needs
4. Core SCM Solution Design & Configuration
- Lead fit-gap workshops and solutioning across modules:
- Product Information Management
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Inventory Management
- Warehouse Management System (Advanced WMS)
- Production Control
- Master Planning (MRP/MPS)
- Quality Management
- Design:
- End-to-end supply chain processes integrated with Finance (P2P, costing, inventory valuation)
- Ensure solutions maximize:
- Standard D365 capabilities (minimize customization)
5. Data Migration & Master Data Governance
- Define and execute data migration strategy using DMF for:
- Item masters, vendors, BOMs, routing, warehouses, locations
- Establish global master data governance model
- Ensure:
- Data integrity, validation, and reconciliation across all countries
- Define:
- Naming conventions, item structures, warehouse hierarchies
6. Integration & Ecosystem Design
- Design SCM integration architecture with:
- 4PL providers (DHL/FedEx), warehouse automation systems
- Shipping carriers and tracking platforms
- Procurement and vendor platforms
- Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure:
- Accurate inventory valuation, costing, and financial postings
- Support integration using:
- APIs, Azure services, middleware platforms
7. Testing, Deployment & Rollout
- Lead:
- System Integration Testing (SIT), UAT, defect resolution
- Manage:
- Multi-country deployment strategy and cutover planning
- Support:
- Hypercare and stabilization post go-live
- Enable:
- User training and adoption across global teams
8. Reporting & Operational Insights
- Design reporting frameworks for:
- Inventory visibility, warehouse KPIs, procurement performance
- Demand vs supply planning analytics
- Enable:
- Real-time insights through Power BI and analytics
- Support:
- Data-driven operational decision-making
9. Stakeholder & Consulting Leadership
- Act as trusted advisor to:
- Supply Chain Heads, Operations Leaders, CIO/CFO stakeholders
- Lead:
- Executive workshops, design reviews, and steering committees
- Support:
- Pre-sales, RFPs, demos, and solution estimations
10. Governance & Best Practices
- Ensure adherence to:
- Microsoft best practices and standard D365 architecture
- Define:
- Security roles, warehouse operations controls, audit traceability
- Promote:
- Reusable templates, accelerators, and delivery frameworks
Required Experience (10 15 Years)
- 10 15 years in ERP / Supply Chain consulting
- 6 10+ years in D365 F&O SCM / AX
- Minimum 3 5 end-to-end D365 SCM implementations
- Proven experience in:
- Global multi-country rollouts
- Template-based implementations
- Multi-warehouse, multi-site environments
- Strong exposure to:
- Global delivery models (US, Europe, APAC, India)

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's / Master's in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field

Technical Skills
- Process modeling (Visio / BPMN)
- Data & reporting (Power BI)

- Experience in:
