Category Application Maintenance / Production Support (Workday)
Experience 8 10+ years overall Workday experience

Work Mode Independent contributor role minimal direct oversight required
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday Maintenance & Support Analyst to own the ongoing configuration, stability, and continuous improvement of our Time Tracking and Absence Management modules. This is a steady-state/AMS (Application Management Support) role, not an implementation engagement the ideal candidate has already been through full-cycle Workday deployments and now specializes in sustaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing a live production tenant. The candidate must hold a Workday Pro Certification (not an Implementation Partner certification) in the relevant module(s), reflecting deep, hands-on, customer-side expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Provide ongoing production support, configuration, and maintenance of Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management modules across the US and Canada.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on reported defects, calculation errors, and process failures; document findings and drive permanent fixes rather than workarounds.
Triage, prioritize, and resolve incidents and enhancement requests logged as JIRA tickets, closing them within agreed SLAs and with clear resolution notes.
Configure and maintain time entry templates, time calculation tags, accrual rules, absence plans, eligibility rules, holiday calendars, and related business processes.
Own and maintain the product/module roadmap for Time Tracking and Absence Management, recommending enhancements aligned to evolving business and compliance needs.
Partner with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to translate policy or regulatory changes (federal, state/provincial, and local) into system configuration.
Monitor bi-annual Workday releases; assess impact on Time Tracking/Absence configuration, test new features, and manage regression testing.
Proactively identify recurring issues, configuration gaps, or data integrity risks, and recommend preventive solutions.
Maintain configuration documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for support continuity.
Collaborate with integration teams to troubleshoot issues involving time/absence data flowing to payroll or third-party systems.
Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment on prioritization and escalation.
Required Qualifications
8 10+ years of overall Workday experience, with substantial time in a maintenance/production support capacity (not solely implementation).
Active Workday Pro Certification in Time Tracking and/or Absence Management (Implementation Partner certification does not meet this requirement).
Proven, hands-on experience configuring and supporting Time Tracking and Absence Management for both the United States and Canada, including country-specific rules, statutory leave, and time
calculation differences.
Demonstrated experience performing structured root cause analysis on system defects and production issues.
Practical experience working in JIRA (or similar ITSM/ticketing tools) to manage, track, and close support tickets.
Experience owning or contributing to a module roadmap, including prioritizing enhancements and coordinating with stakeholders.
Strong understanding of Workday business process framework, calculated fields, eligibility rules, and security groups as they relate to Time Tracking and Absence.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong written communication skills for documentation, RCA reports, and ticket resolution notes.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday bi-annual release management and regression testing for Time Tracking/Absence.
Familiarity with Workday Payroll integration points as they relate to time and absence data.
Exposure to additional Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation) is a plus.
Experience in a shared services or AMS (Application Management Support) environment supporting multiple business units.
What Success Looks Like
Time Tracking and Absence configuration remains stable through each Workday release with minimal production disruption.
JIRA tickets are resolved within SLA with well-documented root causes and fixes.
The module roadmap reflects current business priorities and regulatory requirements for both US and Canada.
Stakeholders trust the analyst to independently diagnose and resolve issues without extensive hand-holding.
