Job Description

seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design and build end-to-end business solutions for one of the leading financial services organizations in the US and Canada. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both frontend and backend development, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand business requirements and lead requirement-gathering discussions
• Own backlog items and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver sprint commitments
• Perform technical design reviews and conduct thorough code reviews
• Design, prototype, develop, and troubleshoot applications across UI and service layers
• Ensure code quality through peer reviews, focusing on scalability, reusability, and best practices
• Participate in architectural and technical discussions related to UX, design, and development
• Demonstrate application features and enhancements to client stakeholders
• Support QA teams with test planning, root cause analysis, and defect resolution
• Work in an Agile / Scaled Agile development environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development
• Strong experience in multi-tier application architecture
• Expertise in:
  • Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot
  • REST & SOAP Web Services
  • Hibernate, SQL
  • Application servers such as Tomcat and WebSphere
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit
• Strong knowledge of UML, design patterns, and application architecture
• Hands-on experience with responsive design and cross-browser web applications
• Strong understanding of API development and web service models
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and quality tools like SONAR
• Familiarity with Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies

Cloud & DevOps Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud (AWS knowledge is a plus)
• Familiar with tools such as:
  • Bitbucket
  • Jira
  • Confluence
• Experience working with Swagger profiles and JSON payloads

Soft Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
• Proven ability to collaborate with onsite and offshore teams
• Client-facing experience is a strong plus

Nice to Have

• Financial services domain experience
• Exposure to modern frontend technologies and AJAX-based applications
