Summary

Description

Markon is seeking a Data Scientist Level 2 to analyze complex datasets and develop analytics that support mission and business decision-making for our Fort Meade Customer. This role applies statistical analysis, machine learning, and data engineering techniques to transform raw data into actionable insights, with a strong emphasis on Python-based analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Develop and implement analytics, statistical models, and machine learning techniques to support mission requirements.
  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering to prepare data for analysis.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data pipelines supporting analytical workflows.
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards to clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write efficient, maintainable Python code for data analysis and modeling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and reproducibility of analytical results.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience using data analysis tools such as Python (required), R, SAS, or MATLAB.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in data wrangling and data preparation.
  • Experience with database management and data querying.
  • Proficiency in data visualization techniques and tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or government analytics.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and analytics environments.
  • Experience working with large-scale or high-velocity datasets.

Salary Range

USD $160,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
