The Field Service Technician is a critical member of the Service Operations team, responsible for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services for food processing, production, holding, and serving equipment. This role requires frequent travel to customer sites, strong technical expertise, and a customer-first mindset. Technicians are expected to respond promptly to service needs, troubleshoot efficiently, and maintain a high standard of professionalism.

Job Details
Deliver a consistently customer-centric service experience
Respond to service dispatches within established response timeframes
Accurately document travel time, labor hours, parts usage, service notes, and customer signatures using digital devices
Follow all company and customer documentation standards and SOPs
Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, repairs, and follow-up needs
Diagnose and repair equipment using mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC skills
Maintain vehicle parts inventory with 90% cycle count accuracy
Support troubleshooting efforts both remotely and on-site
Perform in-shop repairs when assigned
Participate in company-sponsored technical training and development programs
Maintain company vehicles to cleanliness, safety, and stocking standards
Participate in cycle counts, inventory transfers, and annual inventory reviews
Rotate through on-call schedules for after-hours and emergency service
Work overtime as needed to meet customer and service demands
Perform effectively in fast-paced, high-stress, and occasionally soiled environments
Required Qualifications & Skills
High School diploma or GED required; technical or trade training strongly preferred
HVAC knowledge required; Universal EPA Certification strongly preferred
Strong mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude
Experience using digital multimeters and mobile technology for service documentation
Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, including condensers, evaporators, and compressors
Ability to service and maintain:
Hot-side equipment: ovens, fryers, fryers, holding equipment
Coldside equipment: batch freezers, gelato machines, refrigeration systems
Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical customers
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stand, climb ladders, and work in varied physical conditions
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks
Additional Requirements
Intermittent overnight travel required based on workload
Must maintain confidentiality of customer and company information
Expected to support company goals, policies, and service excellence standards at all times
