Job#: 3029534 Job Description: Apex Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer II to join our client within the automotive industry. This will be an onsite role in Warren, MI. It is starting as a 12 month contract, with high potential to extend/convert permanent.

Summary - Location: 100% onsite in Warren, MI (no remote or travel required)
- Shift: Primarily 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:30/3:00 PM); flexibility for other shifts may be possible
- Overtime: Not required but available when production demands
- Start Date Target: April 27 or May 4 (dependent on approvals and background checks)
Role Purpose- Support pre-production operations in Body Shop and General Assembly
- Added headcount due to increased workload and upcoming projects
- Highly hands-on, floor-based role supporting build issues and corrective actions
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Investigate and resolve build and quality issues on the manufacturing floor
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions
- Heavy documentation, follow-up, and cross-functional coordination
- High interaction with production, engineering, builders, and quality teams
- Independent ownership of issues within a collaborative environment
Work Environment- Body Shop: Robotic cells, welding, metal fabrication
- General Assembly: Finished vehicle systems (interior, engines, transmissions)
Required / Desired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree preferred, especially in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, or Engineering fields
- Open to early-career candidates
- Foundational automotive or manufacturing knowledge (powertrain or completed vehicle)
- Strong skills in:
- Problem solving & statistical analysis
- Communication and collaboration
- Root cause analysis
- Not required to be a hands-on mechanic, but understanding how systems work is important
