Job Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for executing and managing testing and inspection activities for fountain beverage equipment, including Legacy, Freestyle, frozen and unfrozen carbonated beverage systems, and bar guns. This role involves performing test, developing, and implementing testing processes, methodologies, equipment, and technologies to ensure effective and efficient product verification.
The position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in improving the quality of complex electromechanical systems through laboratory-based testing.
The Quality Technician will analyze test results against established standards and procedures, recommend enhancements to existing testing protocols, and develop new test methods as needed. Testing activities will cover beverage quality, equipment performance, system design validation, software functionality, and overall system reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and maintain quality plans for new products.
- Conduct hands on testing of products, components, materials, and equipment to verify compliance with quality and engineering standards.
- Design and build test fixtures and perform testing on systems incorporating fluidics, mechanical components, electronics, and software.
- Apply working knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electromechanical systems.
- Utilize quality testing fundamentals, including defect identification, failure analysis, troubleshooting, test report generation, and defect submission.
- Operate in a laboratory environment with controlled temperatures and potential exposure to varying conditions such as noise, fumes, and temperature fluctuations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within QA processes and collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to enhance product quality.
- Communicate effectively through clear verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
- Support additional functions as needed, including **software, fluidics, mechanical, and electrical teams.
- Safely lift and handle equipment weighing 20 30 lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Required to be in the office, Monday through Friday.
Education MUST Have:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with complex systems involving electronics, software, fluid, and mechanical components.
- At least 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within an engineering environment.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting; beverage industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with QA testing tools, equipment, methodologies, and basic computer applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex quality related issues.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and organizational abilities with a solid foundation in engineering principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for following procedures, reviewing documentation, and completing reports.
