Location: Milwaukee (3 days onsite/2 days remote)

The Senior Business Analyst serves as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving the successful delivery of enterprise initiatives that support transformation. This role is responsible for analyzing current business processes, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, documenting requirements, and supporting the implementation of modern underwriting workflows and technology solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills with mortgage industry knowledge and experience supporting business process transformation and application implementation efforts.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for strategic initiatives
  • Translate business objectives into detailed functional requirements, business rules, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and maintain business requirements documents, use cases, and business process flows
  • Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and impacts associated with proposed changes.
  • Support implementation of new operating models and business capabilities associated with underwriting modernization initiatives.
  • Support Agile delivery practices including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story development, and release planning.
  • Executes requirements definition, analysis models, technical documentation, business documentation; facilitating end user communication and understanding of project requirements.
  • Support organizational change efforts through training, process documentation, and communication activities.
  • Develop and coordinate user acceptance testing activities, including test scenarios, test cases, defect triage, and business sign-off.
  • Assist with implementation planning, production readiness assessments, and post-deployment support.
  • Communicates using both formal and informal methods across cross functional team throughout the project management process. Responsible for aligning communication deliverables and methods to each sequence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Systems. Additional experience (2 years) beyond the minimum (below) may be substituted for education beyond an Associate Degree.

Required Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of business units and the interrelationships thereof obtained during onboarding
  • Understanding of concept and phases of SDLC; able to complete assigned project tasks per each corresponding SDLC phase
  • Understanding of project management principles and lifecycle
  • Understanding of how IT affects business processes

Experience:
  • 7 years advanced work in area of specialization
  • Experience supporting mortgage insurance, mortgage lending, underwriting operations, loan origination, or financial services technology initiatives strongly preferred
  • Experience working in Agile environments and supporting product-based delivery models.
  • Requires general direction, can define necessary tasks to achieve outcomes
  • Performs multiple tasks of moderate and high complexity
  • Multi-task and achieve multiple deliverables
