Lead Senior Palantir Data Engineer (Technical Lead)

Our Dallas-based client is seeking a Lead Senior Palantir Data Engineer to serve as the technical authority for the enterprise data and analytics platform. This role will lead architecture, engineering standards, platform scalability, and technical execution across critical data products built within the Palantir Foundry ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on Palantir engineering expertise with technical leadership experience, mentoring and guiding a team of 3-5 Data Engineers while partnering closely with Product Delivery Leads, business stakeholders, and analysts to transform requirements into scalable, governed, and reusable data solutions.
This individual will own technical architecture, code quality, data modeling standards, pipeline reliability, and engineering best practices while serving as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
  • Serve as the senior technical authority for the enterprise data platform.
  • Lead technical design reviews and architecture decisions across Foundry applications, pipelines, ontology objects, and data products.
  • Assess business requirements, epics, and user stories and translate them into technical designs, implementation plans, and engineering tasks.
  • Partner with Product Delivery Leads to evaluate feasibility, dependencies, delivery complexity, and implementation risks.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, development patterns, testing practices, and deployment readiness criteria.
  • Maintain architecture documentation, technical decision logs, and platform standards.
Palantir Data Engineering
  • Design, develop, and support enterprise data solutions using Palantir
  • Build and optimize Foundry Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) data pipelines.
  • Develop scalable ingestion, transformation, validation, historization, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Design ontology-aligned data models, fact tables, dimensions, and governed data products.
  • Support integrations with ERP, CRM, finance, operational, marketing, and third-party systems.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, observability, security, and performance across the platform.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and support a team of 3-5 Data Engineers.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  • Establish engineering best practices and development standards.
  • Review contractor and vendor deliverables for quality, maintainability, and alignment with platform standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and career development support to engineering team members.
Application Development
  • Build and support Foundry Workshop applications and operational solutions.
  • Develop front-end components using React and JavaScript when required.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to create user-friendly analytical and operational applications.
Governance & Platform Reliability
  • Support enterprise data governance, RBAC, metadata management, and documentation standards.
  • Establish validation, testing, monitoring, and operational support processes.
  • Drive technical debt reduction and continuous platform improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of Data Engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Solution Architect, or Senior Engineering ownership experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Palantir Foundry
    • Foundry Pipeline Builder
    • PySpark
    • Python
    • React/Javascript (huge plus)
    • SQL
    • Git/GitHub
  • Experience designing and supporting Medallion Architecture data platforms.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical implementation plans and engineering workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, historization, dimensional modeling, and governed data products.
  • Experience leading code reviews, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Huge Plus)
  • Experience with Foundry Ontology, Workshop, Operational Applications, and Data Lineage.
  • Palantir Foundry Certifications.
  • Experience integrating ERP, CRM, POS, reservation, finance, or operational systems.
  • Experience supporting analytics, finance, operations, or revenue management initiatives.
  • Experience within hospitality, marinas, real estate, Retail, or asset-intensive industries.
Success Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can independently architect complex data solutions, mentor engineers, establish scalable engineering patterns, and drive delivery excellence across the Palantir Foundry platform while ensuring data products are reliable, governed, reusable, and built for long-term enterprise scale.
