Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay is currently seeking applicants for a Staff IC Foundry Engineer.

We are currently looking for a Staff IC Foundry Engineer to join our growing team in San Jose, California, that develops integrated circuits at the heart of modern power systems. We are looking for an engineer who is highly self-driven, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a collaborate team environment. You will work closely with our design and product engineering teams to ensure successful product development to deliver cutting edge solutions to the market.

Job Location:

This position will be filled near our Vishay offices in San Jose, CA.

What you will be doing:
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve silicon yield, reliability, and process-related issues across IC product lines.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with semiconductor foundries, driving issue resolution and managing technical communications related to process performance, yield excursions, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of foundry process technologies, with emphasis on BCD processes and associated device characteristics.
  • Design, execute, and analyze Design of Experiments to identify root causes, optimize process windows, and improve yield and product performance.
  • Perform statistical analysis of wafer fabrication, parametric, electrical test, and yield data to identify trends, correlations, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with design, product, test, reliability, and foundry engineering teams to drive process and product optimization.
  • Evaluate process changes and technology enhancements, assessing their impact on device performance, reliability, manufacturability, and yield.
  • Develop technical reports, presentations, and recommendations based on data-driven analysis and engineering investigations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

What you will bring along:
  • Masters degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Materials Science, Physics Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and IC fabrication technologies.
  • Experience with BCD process technologies, including understanding of device structures, process integration, and yield mechanisms
  • Proven experience investigating yield excursions and performing root-cause analysis.
  • Hands-on experience designing and analyzing DOE experiments.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical data analysis and data mining tools
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence external foundry partners and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Self-driven, analytical, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
