We are seeking a Mechanical R&D Engineer III with strong technical fundamentals, hands-on experience and attention to detail to support real-world product challenges in a cross-functional, regulated environment.

In this role, you will support the development of electronic medical equipment, including single-use devices and capital consoles, from concept through commercialization. Working within a cross-functional team, you will help ensure product safety, quality and compliance while improving overall product performance. This role spans new product development, manufacturing support and complex problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. You will maintain design integrity, identify risks, make sound technical decisions and drive issues to resolution across teams.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

Your responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the development and improvement of products and processes through mechanical design, analysis, testing and problem-solving, with a focus on reliability, manufacturability and performance
Support sustaining engineering activities for commercial products, including design updates, issue resolution and continuous improvement
Provide engineering support to manufacturing to improve process efficiency and resolve production and product challenges using structured problem-solving methods
Prepare and deliver clear, well-structured technical reports and presentations in a timely manner to communicate findings and recommendations
Apply business policies and procedures during project execution while incorporating customer and business needs
Contribute to project teams and lead defined areas of work, supporting planning, execution and delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve project objectives
Provide technical input and guidance to cross-functional teams on engineering matters
Support the review and approval of engineering and quality documentation in line with established processes

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
4+ years' experience in product development, sustaining engineering or manufacturing support
Hands-on experience with mechanical design, testing and troubleshooting components and systems
Proficiency in CAD tools
Experience applying structured problem-solving methods, such as root cause analysis, to resolve technical issues
Demonstrated ability to create clear, well-structured technical documentation, including design updates, test protocols and reports
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of medical device regulations and IEC 60601, Medical electrical equipment - Part 1: General requirements for basic safety and essential performance
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in process improvement and design for manufacturability
Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated manufacturing environments
Demonstrated project management experience leading technical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience with 3D CAD software

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
