Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Product Domain SME to lead domain data ownership and ensure semantic accuracy across enterprise data platforms. This role will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, driving data product strategy, governance, and quality across Medallion architecture layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum).

The ideal candidate will bring strong domain expertise in banking/financial services, deep understanding of data governance, and the ability to communicate effectively at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and govern domain-specific data definitions, business rules, and semantic consistency across Gold layer data assets.
• Act as the authoritative liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring clear understanding of data meaning, usage, and intent.
• Define, implement, and maintain data contracts, SLAs, and certified dataset standards.
• Establish and drive Medallion architecture promotion standards, including qualification criteria for Gold and Platinum layers.
• Collaborate with the Data Catalog team (Alation) to maintain accurate business glossary, metadata, and data lineage documentation.
• Lead strategic discussions with senior leadership, including C-level executives, on data product vision, business value, and platform roadmap.
• Independently create and deliver executive-level presentations, insights, and data-driven recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and quality standards across enterprise data assets.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or data product roles, preferably in the banking or financial services domain.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and semantic data management.
• Hands-on experience with Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
• Experience defining and managing data contracts, SLAs, and data certification processes.
• Expertise with data cataloging tools such as Alation (or similar platforms).
• Proven ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging executive leadership.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in large-scale data platforms or data mesh environments.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in banking (e.g., data governance, risk, privacy).
• Experience with data product lifecycle management.
