Role: Accountant
Location: Weston Phase 10 Office – Weston, FL
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Monday & Tuesday onsite, Wednesday–Friday remote)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (1-hour lunch)
Hours: 40 hours per week; no overtime or weekend work expected
Duration: 3-Month Contract with medium possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and business needs
Interview Process: One 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview
Pay Rate: Up to $35.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Revenue Accounting team on a temporary contract basis. This role will focus on revenue recognition analysis, SOX compliance initiatives, audit support, and process improvement efforts.
The selected candidate will play a key role in documenting and evaluating revenue-related controls, supporting compliance activities, and assisting with technical accounting projects related to ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting foundation, experience with internal controls and SOX compliance, and the ability to analyze complex financial data while working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support revenue accounting activities and revenue recognition analysis in accordance with ASC 606 guidance.
- Assist with SOX compliance initiatives, including process documentation, control testing support, and evidence collection.
- Document and evaluate revenue-related business processes and internal controls.
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare supporting documentation for revenue recognition conclusions.
- Analyze revenue-related financial data and identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to revenue accounting and compliance activities.
- Participate in special projects involving system implementations, process enhancements, and business changes impacting revenue accounting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal control requirements.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 3+ years of accounting, revenue accounting, or audit experience.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance.
- Experience documenting business processes, internal controls, and accounting conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting public company compliance requirements.
- Prior experience with revenue accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Background in audit, compliance, or technical accounting environments.
