Position Summary

 

The DCAA Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring that the organization''s accounting systems, business processes, policies, and government contracts comply with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) requirements. This role partners with Finance, Accounting, Contracts, HR, Procurement, and Program Management to prepare for audits, maintain compliance, and minimize contractual and financial risk.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Lead DCAA compliance initiatives across government contracts.

·         Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other applicable federal regulations.

·         Prepare and coordinate DCAA audits, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) reviews, and government requests.

·         Develop, maintain, and improve DCAA-compliant accounting policies and internal controls.

·         Support incurred cost submissions (ICE), provisional billing rates, forward pricing rates, and indirect rate calculations.

·         Review labor charging practices, timesheet compliance, and expense reporting.

·         Ensure accounting systems meet DCAA adequacy requirements.

·         Coordinate responses to audit findings and implement corrective actions.

·         Support contract pricing, cost proposals, and government negotiations.

·         Monitor subcontractor compliance where applicable.

·         Train employees on DCAA requirements, ethics, and government contracting compliance.

·         Work closely with ERP teams (SAP, Oracle, Deltek Costpoint, or Microsoft Dynamics) to ensure compliant financial processes.

·         Maintain documentation supporting audits and regulatory requirements.

·         Provide compliance metrics and executive reporting to senior leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

·         7+ years of experience supporting U.S. federal government contractors.

·         Strong knowledge of DCAA, FAR, DFARS, CAS, and Federal Acquisition Regulations.

·         Experience with incurred cost submissions, indirect rates, and audit support.

·         Understanding of government contract accounting principles.

·         Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Deltek Costpoint, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.

·         Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         CPA, CMA, or CGFM certification.

·         Experience supporting Costpoint or SAP implementations.

·         Experience with DCMA business systems compliance.

·         Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements such as CMMC and NIST SP 800-171.

·         Experience supporting Defense Department, NASA, or civilian federal agencies.
