Job Description

This role is responsible for supervising the people, processes, and tools that support desktops and other end-user devices across The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). The position provides leadership in the planning, design, development, and ongoing support of desktop services, ensuring stability, reliability, and optimal performance across system and application environments.

As a technical supervisor, this individual oversees desktop support teams, manages daily operations, and ensures high-quality service delivery. The role also involves coordinating initiatives across multiple IT areas to align desktop support with broader business and healthcare solutions. Serving as a subject matter expert, the supervisor establishes and guides desktop services strategies, policies, and best practices while providing direction and insight to leadership, peers, and team members to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least three years of experience in information technology. Requires foundational knowledge of general IT technologies and tools, along with strong skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and communication. Familiarity with desktop hardware and software, printing, and basic networking and telephony environments is essential. Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundations, Six Sigma/Lean, CompTIA A+, Security+, HDI, or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) are preferred.
