Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Birmingham, AL – Fully Onsite (local travel required)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Overview
We are seeking a friendly, hands-on Field Service Technician to provide onsite IT support across multiple healthcare centers in the Birmingham market, with occasional travel to Montgomery. This role serves as the primary in-person technical resource for staff, ensuring reliable operation of hardware, software, and connectivity that supports daily care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver onsite technical support for end users across assigned locations
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and basic network issues
Image, configure, install, and replace desktops, laptops, and peripherals
Communicate clearly with local staff and the broader IT team
Maintain accurate documentation, prioritization, and follow-up on support requests
Adhere to IT standards, security policies, and healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA/CMS)
Travel locally between sites as part of weekly support coverage
Requirements
Experience providing hands-on IT field support or technical troubleshooting
Strong customer service, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
Professional, business-casual presence
Healthcare IT or HIPAA familiarity (Bonus)
