Summary
We are seeking a skilled Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer to support and enhance marketing automation initiatives for a state-level client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Marketing Cloud development, SMS communications, and data-driven campaign execution, along with exposure to regulated environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud development
- Strong hands-on experience with AMPscript and SQL
- Experience implementing or supporting SMS messaging, including consent management
- Experience with MobileConnect, SMS compliance, and short code provisioning
- Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance standards (PII)
- Experience integrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM
- Ability to work in a staff augmentation environment under client direction
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Consultant Certification
- Experience working with government agencies or healthcare organizations
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG / Section 508)
- Strong understanding of SMS compliance and governance processes

- Configure and support Salesforce Marketing Cloud modules including:

- Journey Builder
- Automation Studio

- Assist with SMS enablement:
- Short code acquisition
- Keyword configuration
- Opt-in/opt-out management
- Compliance alignment
- Develop and manage:
- Automated customer journeys
- Triggered and scheduled campaigns (Email & SMS)
- Build and maintain:
- Data Extensions
- SQL queries
- Audience segmentation strategies
- Implement dynamic and personalized content using AMPscript
- Support integrations between Marketing Cloud and external/state systems
- Troubleshoot campaign, data, SMS, and automation-related issues
- Ensure adherence to state governance, security, and privacy policies
- Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer
- Follow PMO processes, change management, and compliance standards
