Mobile Engineer HVAC/R - contract to hire

Our client, a leader in the industry, is searching for a Mobile Engineer (HVAC/R) who s ready to bring their technical expertise and problem-solving skills to maintain and optimize facility equipment and systems.

What you'll be doing

• Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC/R, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment to achieve efficient operations and extend system life.
• Ensure equipment is maintained safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime through proactive repairs and record-keeping.
• Perform inspections and necessary repairs on interior and exterior property areas, including lighting, walls, flooring, and roofing systems.
• Focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all facility equipment and systems.

Your areas of responsibility include

• Maintenance
  • Carry out preventive and responsive work orders on facility systems and components.
  • Maintain HVAC/R systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building repairs.
  • Familiarize yourself with equipment and methods to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Report on facility inspections and conditions for client occupancy and operations.
• Safety
  • Conduct Hazard Assessments and comply with safety procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, and City regulations.
  • Participate in all required safety trainings and practice Defensive Driving.
• Driving
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver s license.
• Administrative
  • Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order status in real-time.
  • Utilize CMMS systems like Corrigo for all work performed.
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections and attend required meetings.
  • Escalate issues to the Customer and Manager promptly.

The right person has

• Education/Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: 3rd Party Certification.
• Years of Relevant Experience
  • At least four years of technical experience in building engineering with strong HVAC/R knowledge.
• Other Abilities
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Certifications/Licenses
  • Universal CFC recovery certification (or obtain within 90 days of employment).
  • Licenses as required by local authorities.
• Physical Work Requirements
  • Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and working from heights.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, lifting, and working in extreme conditions.
  • Ability to drive for long periods and climb ladders up to 30 feet.

Must be available for on-call work and willing to join an on-call schedule as needed. On-call technicians are expected to respond to calls promptly per company direction. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
