They also deliver consulting, troubleshooting, and emergency restoration services to ensure reliable, high-performance operations and minimize downtime for growing businesses.
The Cable Tech will work on a team of 4 techs for commercial customers. This role requires advanced technical splicing expertise, and experience performing aerial, underground, and in-building fiber work.
The Cable Tech must ensure that all work adheres to industry standards, safety protocols, and project specifications while maintaining efficient workflows and supporting project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Fiber Splicing & Technical Execution

Troubleshoot fiber optic networks using OTDR, power meters, light sources, and visual fault locators.
Install and maintain splice enclosures, cabinets, bulkheads, and distribution panels in both OSP and ISP environments.
Read and interpret splice matrices, fiber schematics, construction prints, and cable schedules.
Installation, Testing & Field Operations
Execute installation and routing of innerduct, conduit systems (Maxcell, Microduct, etc.), and fiber cable placement in aerial, underground, and data-center environments.
Maintain organized work vehicles, jobsite cleanliness, inventory of tools, consumables, and test equipment.
Conduct fiber acceptance testing, loss-budget verification, and documentation of test results.
Support outage restorations, emergency repairs, and on-call rotations as required.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate cabling, splicing records, redlines, as-builts, and jobsite documentation.
Provide daily updates, progress reports, and issue escalation to project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
3-5+ years of professional fiber splicing experience; high-count fiber and ribbon splicing strongly preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of OSP fiber networks, construction practices, and safety protocols.
Proficiency with fusion splicers, ribbon splitters, OTDRs, power meters, and related tools.
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
Valid driver's license; ability to work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions.
