Summary

Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office - in Raleigh, NC.

The corporate technology solutions architect position leads architecture and technical design activities in support of specific solution development projects. Works closely with business units and associates to identify development solutions that are cost-effective, efficient, and meet business needs. Collaborates on the technical design of artifacts, ensuring compliance and documentation of all applicable standards. Ensures quality results and timely completion of project tasks. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance on the design, interface requirements, and technology of developed solutions.

This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and leadership to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology architectures across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture and Design Leadership
    • Defines and owns solution architecture for key initiatives and platforms.
    • Creates high quality architectural artifacts to support alignment & execution.
    • Leads design reviews and provide architectural guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Solution Development & Integration
    • Leads a team of associates on assigned solution development projects.
    • Recommends technology solutions, an application programming and integration solution through research on alternative options.
    • As needed, troubleshoots deployment issues, develops programs, integrates solutions, and performs other tasks related to technical design.
    • Guide development and infrastructure teams during implementation.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and performance challenges.
    • Support modernization and legacy system transformation initiatives.
  • Consultation -
    • Provides consultation to the business unit, management, and associates on all phases of integration systems development and processes.
    • Acts as a trusted advisor on strategies and approaches for overall integration of technology components.
  • Project Coordination -
    • Ensures project tasks are completed on time and with a high degree of quality.
    • Collaborates with other team members on detailed application design, development, and integration testing.
    • Support cross-functional alignment and coordination across delivery teams
  • Technical Expertise -
    • Maintains a strong understanding of available technology, tools, and designs in order to provide consultation and leverage technologies within the Bank.
    • Offers direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Software application development

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Software application development

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise within corporate technology areas to include finance, HR, and other back office solutions running in a banking environment.
  • Expertise with at least one major programming language (e.g. Java, Python, .NET, etc.,)
  • Expertise in working on distributed platforms, SaaS applications, databases.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations, system development methodologies and tools, and IT systems framework and standards,
  • Consulting and relationship management skills
  • Experience with third-party vendor integration and orchestration
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to produce and communicate technical artifacts clearly and effectively
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Large Financial institution experience.
