Job Description:

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Division of Enterprise and Technology Services, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). Located in Frankfort, Kentucky, KPPA is responsible for the daily administration of three state administered retirement systems with over $24.9 billion in combined assets. These systems have a membership of approximately 421,000 state and local government employees in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, including state employees, state police officers, city and county employees, as well as non-teaching staff of local school boards and regional universities.

This position is in the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) within the KPPA Division of Enterprise and Technology Services (ETS). The ETS division is staffed by 50 technology professionals divided into seven branches. The EPMO branch consists of 3 skilled professionals that work in a variety of areas including procurement, project management, training, and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning & Delivery: Lead IT projects from initiation through completion, managing scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder & Team Coordination: Gather project requirements, and coordinate activities across business stakeholders, vendors, technical teams, infrastructure, security and leadership across the agency.
  • Communication and Reporting: Facilitate project meetings, provide verbal or written status meetings, and communicate progress with stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.
  • Risk, Quality & Issue Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues while ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Resource, Budget & Procurement Support: Manage project resources and support procurement activities, including tracking budgets, invoices, and contract deliverables.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.


Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Seven (7) years of experience as an IT Project Manager- Senior role

Experience managing technology projects from planning through implementation

Strong project planning, organization, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage project schedules, milestones, risks, issues, and budgets

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

Experience developing or supporting RFPs, RFIs, POCs, and technology evaluations

Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices

Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills
