Job DetailsThe Senior Engineer supports the design and delivery of structural systems for building projects, contributing across project phases from early planning through construction completion, with limited oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support project design decisions based on established requirements, applicable codes, and project constraints.
- Apply engineering principles to support the development of structural solutions.
- Coordinate and review the work of project team members involved in the preparation of construction documents.
- Contribute to the development and review of drawings, specifications, and related project documentation.
- Perform and review structural calculations using appropriate methodologies and layouts.
- Review construction-phase documentation, including RFIs and submittals, as assigned.
- Support the delivery of multiple projects or portions of larger projects with general oversight.
- Assist with project coordination activities, including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting support.
- Participate in project meetings with clients and design teams as needed.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering
- 5+ years related engineering discipline required; advanced degree
- Professional engineering licensure or the ability to obtain licensure, as applicable.
- Experience supporting the analysis, design, or evaluation of building structures in regulated environments.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and analysis with a moderate level of independence.
- Experience designing or supporting structural systems using common building materials.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes and engineering standards.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard structural analysis, modeling, and drafting software.
Desired Qualifications
- California Structural Engineer license.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following software programs: Python, Rhino, or Grasshopper.
- Participation on project teams delivering complex or regulated projects.
- Experience supporting, coordinating, or mentoring junior team members.
