Summary

Need Sr salesforce Email marketing cloud developer responsible for designing, developing, and implementing email marketing campaigns within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, utilizing HTML, CSS, and other coding languages to create responsive, personalized emails, while collaborating with marketing teams to achieve campaign objectives through automation, dynamic content, and A/B testing capabilities.

 

· Implement multi-step, omnichannel journeys in Journey Builder (email, SMS, push, ads, in-app).

· Configure entry events (API, data extension, Salesforce events), decision splits, goal tracking, and exit criteria.

· Create transactional sends and triggered journeys with error-handling and monitoring.

Develop Dynamic Content & Personalization

· Write AMPscript and SSJS to personalize content, access data, set flags, and control logic.

· Use Content Builder features (dynamic content rules, enhanced personalization strings, Einstein content blocks).

· Localize and modularize emails with reusable content blocks and templates.

Data Modeling & Segmentation

· Design Contact Builder relationships, data extensions (DEs), and keys (Contact Key/Subscriber Key).

· Build SQL queries in Automation Studio for audiences, cohorts, and suppressions.

· Use Data Views for behavioral and deliverability segmentation.

Automation & Operations

· Schedule and orchestrate Automation Studio jobs (imports, queries, filters, scripts, file movement).

· Implement file drop and SFTP workflows with validation and fallbacks.

· Manage Triggered Send Definitions, Transactional Messaging API, and Error logging (custom DEs).

API & Web Development

· Create CloudPages (landing pages, microsites, forms) with AMPscript/SSJS.

· Build API-backed pages (server-side form posts, token exchange, webhook receivers).

· Implement preference centers, profile management, and real-time event capture.

Quality, Compliance & Deliverability

· Unit test/preview across browsers/clients; validate HTML/CSS with LitmEmail on Acid (if available).

· Apply CAN-SPAM/GDPR/CCPA rules (consent capture, audit trail, opt-down flows).

· Maintain sender authentication (SPF/DKIM), monitor bounce/spam complaints, and use Einstein where relevant.

· Troubleshooting and optimization: Identifying and resolving technical issues related to SFMC configurations and data synchronization and conducting A/B testing to improve campaign performance.

· Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary for managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, especially in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

· Adaptability to new technologies and learning aptitude, given the rapid evolution of the Salesforce platform and digital marketing landscape.

· An agile mindset and familiarity with agile methodologies for efficient project management. Should be more independent, self-organized,

Marketing Cloud APIs

· REST API: sends, journeys (messaging/v1 & v2), data extension rows, assets, transactional messaging (v1), OAuth 2.0.

· SOAP API: legacy/advanced features (TriggeredSend, Subscriber, List, DataExtensionObject).

· Auth: Server-to-Server OAuth with Installed Packages; handle scopes, token caching/rotation, retries, and backoff.

· Rate limits: Design bulk vs. near-real-time patterns with queueing.

Salesforce CRM Integration

· Marketing Cloud Connect (Sales/Service Cloud):

o Synchronized Data Sources (read-only CRM data in SFMC with sync schedules).

o Triggered Sends from Salesforce (Apex/Process Builder/Flow to MC).

o Journey Entry from Salesforce Events.

· Data strategy: Align Contact/Subscriber Keys with Person Contact or Lead/Contact IDs. Handle deduplication, contact merges, and Contact Delete.

Bulk Data Movement & ETL

· SFTP + Import/Export activities for nightly/near-real-time files.

· File Drop automations for event-driven ingestion.

· ETL/ESB tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica, SnapLogic, Azure Data Factory) for transforms and orchestration.

· Tracking Extracts → feed to BI/lake (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes).

Eventing & Webhooks

· Transactional Messaging API (near real-time sends).

· Journey API Entry Events for event-based orchestration.

· Form posts / webhooks to CloudPages or API endpoints (validate, throttle, sanitize).

· SSJS HTTP and AMPscript functions for server-side calls (use sparingly; handle timeouts and caching).

Security & Compliance

· Principle of least privilege (scoped installed packages).

· Encrypt data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), PII minimization, data masking at rest in DEs when possible.

· Key rotation, secret storage (e.g., external secrets manager when integrating).

· CAN-SPAM/GDPR: lawful basis, consent versioning, auditability, contact deletion/retention.

Observability & Reliability

· Instrument custom logging DEs (API request/response, campaign events).

· Alerting for automation failures, journey errors, and SFTP/file anomalies.

· Dashboarding (e.g., CRM analytics, Power BI/Tableau) on Data Views and tracking extracts.

 

5–8+ years on Salesforce Marketing cloud experience

Marketing Cloud Certification:

· Salesforce.com Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist

· Salesforce.com Certified Marketing Cloud Developer

· Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator
