Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. ECS is supporting a federal health IT modernization initiative under the TOPR 0006 OIP program and is seeking a Lead Health IT Informatics Analyst to join our team. This is a key personnel position that will require a signed letter of commitment. The successful candidate will lead the health IT informatics workstream, ensuring all deliverables are of high quality and meet federal program standards.
The Lead Health IT Informatics Analyst provides expert-level clinical informatics support through stakeholder management, requirements gathering, information modeling, process documentation, and liaison services required to support the development of clinical informatics software and other clinical informatics project activities. This individual works independently or in the general direction of program leadership, as well as in a client-facing capacity, and leads the team responsible for health IT informatics to ensure the work is acceptable, of high quality, and meets program standards.
Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the health IT informatics team, ensuring program deliverables are completed on time, meet quality standards, and align with contract requirements.
- Provide expert stakeholder management and serve as a primary liaison between clinical, technical, and operational teams in a client-facing environment.
- Lead requirements elicitation and analysis activities, capturing and documenting health information and clinical data needs in support of EHR and clinical informatics software development.
- Develop and maintain information models, process documentation, and artifact libraries for systems used in the capture or standardization of health information, clinical information, or data related to therapeutic discovery, medical research, or life sciences.
- Configure and support Oracle Health (OH) and/or CPRS/ VistA systems in a federal health environment; this is a core functional responsibility of the role.
- Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts and ensure acceptance criteria align with clinical and operational requirements.
- Support artifact development and documentation in accordance with federal health IT standards and program governance requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior informatics analysts, establishing best practices and maintaining consistency across the team's work products.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
General Description of Benefits
Required Skills - Minimum 15 years of total experience in health IT or a related field, of which at least 6 years must be specialized in Health Informatics. Note: Six (6) additional years of specialized experience in health informatics may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics , Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Sciences, or a related field (see substitution note above).
- Extensive, hands-on experience with configuration of Oracle Health (OH) and/or CPRS/ VistA is required and is non-negotiable for this position.
- Demonstrated specialized experience in requirements elicitation, requirements analysis, user acceptance testing, and artifact development and documentation.
- Experience supporting systems used in the capture or standardization of health information, clinical information, or data related to therapeutic discovery, medical research, or life sciences.
- Proven ability to work independently or under general direction in a client-facing environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate clinical requirements for technical teams and vice versa.
- U.S. Citizenship required per contract.
Desired Skills - Experience supporting VA or DoD health IT modernization programs, including the VA EHRM initiative.
- Familiarity with federal health information standards including HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, and/or LOINC.
- Experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery frameworks in a federal contracting environment.
- Relevant certifications in health informatics, project management (e.g., PMP), or clinical systems (e.g., Epic certification).
- Experience in a clinical setting or advanced clinical degree (e.g., MD, RN, PharmD) providing a clinical lens to informatics work.
