Senior Mechanical EngineerWhat you'll do:- Create novel electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems for a mobile robotics platform and validate them using rapid prototyping fabrication methods
- Build, debug and support prototype robots
- Develop designs for volume production methods, knowledge of casting, injection molding, stamping, and other volume production processes
- Perform failure modes analysis
- Create work instructions for fabricating robotic systems
- Develop concepts for systems to meet design requirements
- Support robot deployments at customer sites as required
- Redesign robotic systems for volume manufacturing, focusing on reliability and cost optimization
Ideal Candidates- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics with 3+ years of industry experience
- Experience designing and debugging electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (Solidworks and Onshape preferred). FEA experience (ANSYS preferred) an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Hands on experience with 3D printing, sheet metal design, casting, injection molding, prototype manufacturing and assembly
Nice to have:- Experience drafting engineering drawings, conducting tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, etc.
- Experience with embedded and edge devices, programming, industrial engineering, electrical system selection and design a plus
