Remote Senior AWS Solutions Architect (EST)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior AWS Solution Architect for a Right-to-hire Contractor assignment with one of our clients in PA. This position will convert to FTE.

Location Requirement: 100% Remote - Must work EST hours.
Client cannot sponsor now or in the future.
Cannot work with additional layers of employment.
We are looking for Enterprise Architecture experience - formerly a Solution Engineer/Developer. This is not an Infrastructure Architect.

The Senior Solution Architect is responsible for the specification, design, development, and implementation of applications and enterprise solution architectures that support the firm's business objectives. This role develops specifications for new products, applications, services, and service offerings, and ensures end-to-end solution integrity across interdependent technologies.

As a key contributor to the firm's digital transformation, the Senior Solution Architect translates business needs into practical, scalable solution designs, communicates solution structure and behavior to stakeholders, and provides clear specifications used to define, manage, and deliver solutions.

This Senior Solution Architect partners closely with architecture, business, product, and delivery teams to align technical strategy with enterprise objectives. They provide leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring governance, scalability, security, and performance standards are upheld across platforms and applications.
This position reports to the Director of Technical Architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership throughout the solution design process and guide teams on best practices, procedures, and techniques
• Define solution architecture standards and governance; ensure consistent execution
• Analyze business capabilities and the technology environment to shape architectural direction
• Lead the creation and ongoing evolution of solution architecture practices and deliverables
• Partner cross-functionally with business and IT stakeholders to align solutions with business goals and constraints
• Provide architecture and design guidance to solution architects and technical leads during delivery
• Evaluate emerging and disruptive technologies and advise on applicability and impact
• Propose solution options based on business priorities, technical feasibility, risk, security, and scalability
• Produce architectural designs and patterns that guide and contextualize solution development
• Act as a bridge between technical experts and business audiences to ensure shared understanding
• Contribute to digital strategy decisions and provide consulting on digital business models within IT teams
• Establish and maintain documentation standards for architecture artifacts
• Evaluate third-party platforms, tools, and vendor solutions; lead proof-of-concept efforts and provide build-vs-buy recommendations
• Ensure secure, highly available, optimized architectures for critical business systems

Required Skills:

• 13+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT solution development, design, and architecture
• 10+ years architecting complex, secure, highly available, scalable enterprise solutions across multiple platforms
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience (Java, .NET, C++, and/or Python)
• 5+ years architecting integrated solutions across platforms and systems
• 4+ years architecting cloud solutions on AWS
• Experience designing and implementing Microservices architecture
• Strong experience with API design and integration patterns (REST, event-driven architecture, message queues)
• Strong understanding of architecture frameworks and enterprise information models
• Proven ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs
• Experience implementing secure and optimized architectures impacting critical business domains
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Ability to analyze solution needs and determine resources required to achieve objectives
• Ability to work cross-functionally across business and technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, Engineering, or related field
