Job Description
As a Software Engineer III, you will assume a key role in the design, development, configuration, and optimization of key functionality within our cloud-based enterprise Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which handles the generation, analysis, quality control, and interpretation of clinical data produced by diagnostic NGS assays. You will leverage your expertise in LIMS development and software engineering best practices to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient solutions that support clinical diagnostic workflows, laboratory operations, and business processes.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on LIMS development experience, deep knowledge of relational databases, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable, compliant, and efficient technical solutions. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional technical and scientific stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of scientific workflows with enterprise applications.
This is a salaried position, with occasional weekend work to satisfy project timelines and end-user support. This position can work 100% remote and may require up to 10% travel. Candidates must be located in the US and available during Eastern and Central business hours.
Responsibilities
Work extensively within our cloud-based StarLIMS v12 environments and its technology layers to design and develop front-end and back-end solutions which further automate our scientific workflows and technical processes.
Design, test, and deploy integrations with internal and external enterprise applications (via APIs, web services, and middleware).
Create, optimize, and maintain reports and dashboards within StarLIMS and its associated reporting tools including Advanced Analytics, Crystal Reports, and QBE.
Collaborate with business analysts, technical cross-functional stakeholders and laboratory SMEs to effectively translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions.
Provide technical support for software validation activities, troubleshooting, and production system use.
Contribute to team-wide technical standards by maintaining detailed and up-to-date technical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manage workload in Jira and Confluence and provide timely status updates on tasks that are either assigned or self-assigned.
Respectfully and clearly communicate in English both textually and verbally with stakeholders.
Other duties, as assigned, which will contribute to the success of our company and the data systems we deploy.
