Director Sales – Rail / Transportation Domain

Location: Pittsburgh, USA or Canada

Reporting To: Geo Head

Position Overview

We are looking for a senior Sales / Business Development professional with strong rail domain experience and proven exposure to engineering-led IT services, ER&D services, managed services, fixed-price engagements, and large account ownership.

The ideal candidate should have deep relationships within the rail ecosystem, especially with Rail OEMs, and should be capable of farming existing strategic accounts while also hunting new logos. This is not a staff augmentation or body-shopping sales role. The candidate must have experience selling complex engineering, digital, and technology services within the transportation / rail industry.

Mandatory Requirements

   • For Canada-based candidates, the person should be eligible and able to travel to the US as required.
2. Location
   • Candidate must be based in Pittsburgh, USA or anywhere in Canada.
   • Canada location is flexible, but the candidate must be open to travel to the US.
3. Rail Domain Experience
   • Rail domain experience is mandatory.
   • Candidate must have 10–15 years of rail-specific Sales / Business Development experience.
   • Experience should be in selling engineering / IT services to the rail or transportation sector.
4. Engineering / IT Services Exposure
   • Candidate must have experience selling engineering-led IT services, ER&D services, digital engineering, managed services, or fixed-price solutions.
   • Generic IT staffing, body shopping, or staff augmentation experience alone will not be considered.
5. Account Ownership
   • Must have managed large accounts or portfolios of $5M+.
   • Should have strong farming experience and the ability to grow existing accounts.
   • Hunter experience for new logo acquisition is also preferred.
6. Proposal, Pricing, and RFP Experience
   • Must have led the preparation of proposals and pricing models.
   • Should have hands-on experience in complex RFP processes specific to transportation / rail.
   • Experience should include safety standards, regulatory compliance, and commercial negotiation.
7. Large Deal Experience
   • Must have personally driven or closed large deals within the rail industry.
   • Should have experience negotiating managed services or fixed-price contracts.
8. Rail OEM Network
   • Candidate must have strong relationships and networks within Rail OEM companies.
   • Experience selling to or working with major Rail OEMs is highly preferred.
9. Locomotive Design Exposure
   • Experience connected to locomotive design or engineering services is required.
   • Candidates from locomotive / equipment manufacturing or production companies should be avoided unless they have strong services sales experience.
