Position Title : Manager, Information Technology
Job Description : As the manager of the Global Data Support Team, provide support and oversight of global data platforms for middle to back-office investment management activities including trade operations, accounting reporting, reconciliation, corporate actions, derivatives operations, performance systems, pricing, security master, database administration and fund administration areas.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Directly manage the progress and support outcomes of a team of Wellington employees and consultant in the Global Data Support team.
- As a member of Global Data & Application Support Leadership team, responsibilities include management of vendor contracts and onboarding of vendor technologies.
- Manage comprehensive user support with respect to investment data and operational issues.
- Track, resolve, and report on support requests, in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensure continuous availability and operational resiliency of the Geneva portfolio accounting system and related components.
- Establish and maintain effective client relationships by having a high degree of continuous interaction with the end users.
- Work with business users and the IT team to proactively identify opportunities for new and improved systems.
- Take ownership of issues in a 24x7 production environment and collaborate with other teams on remediation and lead them through completion.
- Provide support for other firm-wide initiatives including Disaster Recovery testing, Database upgrades, security audits, infrastructure upgrades, etc.
- Proactively identify systems/process issues and gaps to minimize incidents.
Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, may be able to work 1 day a week from home.
Job Requirements : Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a directly related field plus eight (8) years of experience in a business analysis role in the Investment Management or Financial Service industry. Experience must include:
Eight (8) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience with the middle and back-office investment management areas
- Experience in a developer capacity, including software requirements gathering
- SQL query skills and experience with Oracle/SQL Server relational databases and tools
- Java, Unix, and Tomcat solutions
Three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Crisis and incident management skills, with experience in a 24x7 support role
- Managing and mentoring professionals in their career paths including soft skill and hard skill development, promotions and officership
- Managing and tracking budgets, vendor consultant staffing, and vendor relationships
- Supervising and directing employees and consultants' work
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary range: $156,000 - $195,000/year.
